Functional Lead Contracts and Procurement

The Opportunity

Veolia has an exciting opportunity for a Functional Lead - Contracts and Procurement to join our Water Division in Pyrmont 2009. This pivotal role will focus on developing and implementing procurement strategies and managing supplier relationships across a diverse portfolio of spend, including:

• Minor/Brownfields Capital Works - design and construction of improvements of water treatment facilities
• Water Networks Services - specialist technical equipment (estimated spend $50m over 5 years)
• Water Treatment Operations - enhancing national spend strategies and supporting regional buyers to continuously improve value for our clients.

What you'll be responsible for

• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organisational goals.
• Lead the procurement function strategy, including long term growth and improvement plans.
• Manage and mentor a small team of procurement professionals.
• Optimise procurement processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Provide expert advice on procurement policies and best practices.
• Analyse spending patterns and market trends to identify cost saving opportunities.
• Manage strategic supplier relationships, including contract negotiations and performance evaluations.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to drive procurement initiatives.
• Work closely with legal and finance teams to review and approve contracts.
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for procurement activities.
• Stay informed about industry trends and innovations in procurement practices.
