The reason for this role:

Reporting into the Contracts and Procurement Manager, the Warehousing and Inventory Lead will be required to oversee the organization and coordination of Goldwind Australia’s operating wind and solar farms warehousing, logistics, tools, consumables, materials and inventory requirements.

Based in our Melbourne office, this position will also manage all Warehouse Coordinators and be required to travel to the site, when needed, throughout the year.

What will you be doing?

  • Oversee warehouse operations across operating and upcoming wind and solar farm sites, ensuring alignment with company KPIs and service expectations.
  • Adhere to and uphold inventory management procedures and processes, while proactively identifying opportunities to improve existing systems and enhance operational efficiency
  • Supervise the accurate and timely receipt, storage, and issuance of parts and materials in accordance with safety, compliance, and quality standards.
  • Lead and support warehouse staff in maintaining a well-organized, safe, and efficient work environment, including implementation of safety protocols.
  • Manage a small team of warehouse staff across remote locations and ensure effective communication and coordination with site teams.
  • Undertake inventory reconciliations to ensure system records accurately reflect the physical stock of received and consumed goods across all regional sites, as required.
  • Collaborate with the Beijing Headquarters for order coordination, shipment tracking, and international logistics when required.
  • Support procurement, storage, and maintenance of tools. Work with sites and suppliers to ensure tools are calibrated, safe, and used efficiently. Maintain asset registers.
  • Plan and manage the nationwide distribution of spare parts and materials to ensure optimized and balanced stock availability.
  • Analyze consumption history and operational risks to enhance stock level planning and inventory efficiency.
  • Coordinate inbound shipments of major components from international suppliers and manage centralized bulk procurement in collaboration with GWI.
  • Provide after-hours logistics and inventory support during emergencies and unplanned maintenance activities.
  • Provide end-to-end support for establishing new warehouses and stores in remote locations, including site assessment, layout planning, inventory system implementation, coordination of logistics for equipment and materials, staffing support, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

What does your background look like?

  • 2-4 years’ experience with warehousing and inventory management within a Manufacturing / Renewable Energy or Energy environment.
  • Cert III in Warehousing Operations or similar in Warehousing Logistics or Supply Chain would be highly regarded.
  • Candidates with a Diploma or Degree in Engineering will be highly regarded.
  • Previous experience using Microsoft applications, especially in Excel and outlook.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data effectively.
  • Current Australian Driver’s License.
  • Mandarin language skills are advantageous but not a requirement.
