The Opportunity

We are seeking a technically skilled and strategically minded Manager, Private Equity to join our investment team. In this role, you will support the Private Equity Team in shaping and executing the Fund's global Private Equity strategy. You will play a pivotal role in implementing and managing the Private Equity portfolio, ensuring it aligns with the Fund's overall risk and return objectives. As part of a collaborative investment team, you will also contribute to the design and composition of the broader portfolio, which includes Credit, Property, Infrastructure, Energy Transition (collectively Real Assets), and Listed Equities, as well as other non-traditional assets.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for supporting the Private Equity team in the development and execution of the Fund's Private Equity strategy. This includes conducting market research, guiding due diligence processes, analysing tax structures in collaboration with the Tax Team, and negotiating investment terms that protect the Fund's interests. You will draft Committee and Board papers, ensure timely and accurate performance reporting, and support advisory board participation for invested funds. A critical part of your role will be to monitor the Private Equity portfolio closely, making recommendations on corporate actions, manager interactions, and co-investment opportunities to optimise performance.

In addition to portfolio management, you will contribute to the strategic development of the Private Equity portfolio by identifying emerging trends, researching new sectors, and securing allocations to high-quality funds and co-investments. You will also be expected to build and maintain strong relationships with fund managers, advisors, and strategic partners, while positively representing the Fund at industry events and external engagements. Furthermore, your insights will help shape the broader portfolio, ensuring that the Private Equity strategy complements the overall risk/return profile of the Fund.

About You

You hold a tertiary qualification in Finance or a related discipline. CFA or postgraduate certifications are considered highly desirable. You bring strong investment experience in Private Equity, including direct transaction involvement and a well-established network. Your understanding of the Private Equity landscape is comprehensive, encompassing service providers, governance structures, and transaction analysis. You also possess a broad appreciation of capital markets and portfolio construction principles, with a proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.

Your competencies include a strategic approach to portfolio construction, clear and adaptive communication, and a collaborative mindset. You are known for your ability to build meaningful relationships across teams and externally, and you bring a spirit of innovation-constantly seeking opportunities to improve processes, incorporate new technologies, propose new strategies, and challenge the status quo to elevate outcomes.

Please note that this opportunity is only open to Australian Citizens.
