Urban Rest is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to support financial operations across the group. Reporting to the Financial Controller and working alongside another Financial accountant, you’ll play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across various international locations. You’ll be encouraged to challenge processes, optimize workflows, and embrace automation, working collaboratively across business functions. Key Responsibilities
- Perform month-end closing activities and prepare financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, variance analysis, etc.)
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and maintain ledger accuracy
- Ensure VAT/GST compliance
- Support payroll processing and financial compliance
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis
- Collaborate with and review AP/AR teams for assigned regions
- Assist with year-end financial activities and audits
- Manage compliance tasks, including Company Tax, FBT, payroll tax, etc
- Finance business partnering with operations teams to support continued growth of the business
- Engage with finance-related queries across departments, supporting internal stakeholders
- Work on automation initiatives to optimize financial reporting processes
What We Look For
- A positive, detail-orientated team player with a strong analytical mindset
- CA/CPA qualification or near completion
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Highly motivated and organised, with excellent time-management skills and attention to detail
- Prior experience in a Big 4 or mid-tier accounting firm will be highly regarded, and we welcome candidates making their first move from professional practice into a commercial role
- Prior experience with Xero accounting system will be well regarded but not essential
- Intermediate to advanced excel skills
- Familiarity with financial reporting in industries such as property, hospitality or retail
