As an Assistant Director in this new team, you will lead the design, development and implementation of executive leadership programs and learning initiatives. Supporting the Director of the team and the DTA executive, you will employ a strategic focus to establish and grow a continuous learning culture for the government’s digital projects. Engaging closely with policy owners across the DTA and relevant government agencies, you will define processes and develop knowledge collateral to support the integration of these policies and standards, i.e. to leverage the assurance system to ‘activate’ these policies.
Please note: This role may require interstate travel from time to time.
Key Duties
- Support the Director, you will help to build the capacity and capability of this new team to deliver required outcomes, as well as forge trusted relationships with agencies and key stakeholders across government so that the DTA can effectively fulfil its role as the Australian Government’s chief digital advisor.
- Align to strategic learning outcomes and government priorities, manage and contribute to the work to design, develop and implement targeted leadership programs and learning initiatives to uplift capabilities of digital leaders across government.
- Contribute to cross-functional initiatives and ‘system reforms’ as they arise to deliver improvements to the system of assurance and/or the DTA’s wider mandate and play a key role in identifying, initiating and delivering on improvements to how the assurance system operates evolves to meet the needs of Ministers, agencies and senior leaders.
- Engage with digital leaders across government agencies to consult, advice and to support the leadership programs and learning initiatives, ensuring they remain relevant to meet changing project landscape while addressing digital leadership requirements.
- Play a key role supporting the Branch’s ways of working and approach to talent and capability development, i.e. support resource planning, coordination, and workflow management to ensure the team's work program supports the broader direction of the Branch, Division, the DTA and the wider Australian Government.
- As a member of the Branch’s leadership cohort, work with your peers and colleagues to model expected behaviours for the Branch’s leaders and staff, demonstrating cooperative and collaborative behaviours that align with the DTA’s values and the APS code of conduct.
