In the role of Associate Director, Communications – Data & Analytics, you will join the NAB’s Corporate Affairs team that’s doubling down making a tangible difference to customers while keeping it simple.

Each day, you’ll go above and beyond to:

  • Support the planning, advice and execution of an integrated communications strategy, with a focus on external communications, to build awareness and endorsement about how NAB is leveraging data and analytics capabilities to deliver leading customer and colleague outcomes.
  • Work closely with the leaders across the Group Chief Operating Office, Technology & Enterprise Operations and Enterprise Data & Analytics functions, drive a proactive and integrated external agenda, including media, social media and relevant trade media, to demonstrate NAB’s leadership in data powered experiences.
  • Support issues management, including regularly looking for ways to build trust in NAB, aligned with NAB’s strategic ambition and why we are here.
  • Work in collaboration with colleagues across Corporate Affairs and other stakeholders to ensure consistent alignment of NAB’s messaging and communications activity.
  • Bring the outside in, by helping to drive business decisions that will build trust and drive change for the benefit of customers, communities and NAB, and by pursuing new, innovative, creative and effective communications approaches.
  • Proactively manage risk; meet all policy and compliance requirements; perform controls; adhere to Process and Procedures pertinent to role; and escalate events, issues or breaches as they are identified (risk accountability forms part of all roles, as everyone is responsible for managing risk and compliance). Ensure all communications content and materials are delivered in line with these requirements.

We’re looking for the brightest to deliver the best for our customers. You’ll need:

  • 8+ years’ experience in Communications/Media and Public Relations/Employee Engagement.
  • Demonstrate experience as a trusted advisor who influences outcomes with senior to mid-tier executives/stakeholders and/or mitigates issues to achieve communications objectives.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple issues and stakeholders, while working in a dynamic, cross functional and collaborative team environment to achieve Communications outcomes.
  • Experience working in the technology/digital/data sectors is advantageous.
  • Communications planning and execution skills in one or more of the following categories:
    • Media and public relations: including the development and execution of campaigns and story-telling that achieve positive media coverage and engagement.
    • Digital and social media content skills: including creative ideas that spotlight our people, the projects they work on and the technologies we use.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills required, including demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence with internal stakeholders, including across an Executive Leadership Group.
  • Measurement skills (across media, digital or employee), including how measurement can inform strategy, planning and execution.
  • Sound understanding of the political and external environment, and how that impacts communications strategy.
  • Commercially astute.
