Your New Role

Sitting within the Member Operations function, this role primarily exists to support the operational management of claims by our outsourced and insourced service providers and represent the Claims Governance and Capability team as a key contact for internal and external stakeholders to liase with on claims matters.

You will play a key support role in the Claims Governance and Capability team by efficiently meeting the service deliverables and supporting the evolution of the team operating model with its key partners.

Key duties include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct audits on Bereavement Centre claims, such as, but not limited to, end to end audits, call audits, accreditation audits.
  • Prepare and conduct coaching and feedback sessions with the Bereavement Centre Case Managers.
  • Support the team in responding to internal and external insurance claim queries and complaints so that insurance claims matters are processed efficiently.

  • Support the review and decisioning of death claim distribution recommendations so that claims are handled efficiently and accurately for our Members and their families.

  • Maintain and develop related documentation, processes, protocols, and procedures for consistent oversight and reporting.
  • Make recommendations for automation or changes as required for both external and internal processes to improve the claims operating model.
  • Engage and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, vendors and service providers such as the Bereavement Centre, Administrators and insurance providers, to build positive working relationships.


What You'll Need

  • Proven experience in an administrative role, or in a related role.

  • Proven experience in superannuation insurance preferably group claims
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to proofread, spelling & English grammar skills essential.

  • Well-developed sense of initiative.

  • Critical thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Able to work diligently, efficiently, and with accuracy paying close attention to detail.

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage the range of tasks required of this position.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills which foster cooperation and teamwork in a close team environment.

  • An ability to work autonomously and pro-actively without supervision and to set own work plan to meet deadlines.

  • RG146 accreditation - desirable
