The Role
A career opportunity has arisen for an experienced solicitor, Associate or Senior Associate to join our Insurance team in Brisbane. In this role you will be working with a team of ten other professionals including partner David Slatyer, and three legal assistants, across a range of insurance advisory and litigation matters, including public liability, professional indemnity, property liability, policy indemnity, life/TPD insurance, motor and subrogated recoveries.
Responsibilities will include the following:
The ideal candidate will have between 3-8 years’ experience with insurance work from a defendant law firm. You will work well in a team, have a professional and practical approach, excellent communication skills, and a strong client service focus. The successful candidate will have strong advocacy skills with the ability to assess complex cases effectively. You will have the ability to prioritise tasks, display initiative, have good attention to detail, meet deadlines and collaborate.

- Communicating with clients both in writing and verbally;
- Preparing Court documents;
- Drafting correspondence and communicating with other practitioners;
- Attending and conducting settlement conferences and mediations;
- Routine appearances before the Court; and
- File management.
