Security Architect – NV1 Clearance - ACT, NSW, NT, QLD, SA, TAS, VIC, WA (Hybrid Model)

We are seeking a highly skilled Security Architect to join our Systems Team within the Indigo Program. This role is critical to ensuring the security, resilience, and scalability of our digital solutions.

As a Security Architect, you will lead the definition, design, and embedding of security principles across the Indigo architecture, in alignment with Whole-of-Government frameworks and enterprise security requirements. You will collaborate across architecture teams, BAU, and leadership to deliver secure and pragmatic outcomes that support the program's strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Indigo and BAU teams to design secure, scalable, and resilient solutions.
  • Translate security risks into actionable requirements and ensure integration in build activities.
  • Develop and maintain security standards, frameworks, and best practices aligned to PSPF, ISM, and other relevant government frameworks.
  • Advise Solution Architects and ADTs on secure architecture design and documentation.
  • Conduct security assessments, identify gaps, and develop risk mitigation plans.
  • Support secure code practices, cyber awareness, and DevSecOps enablement.
  • Evaluate security tools and technologies; contribute to recommendations and implementation.
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to junior staff as needed.

Essential Criteria:

  • Knowledge of Whole-of-Government ICT security frameworks (e.g. PSPF, ISM, Gatekeeper, TDIF, GovLink, Essential Eight).
  • Experience with vulnerability management tools and architectural frameworks (e.g. TOGAF).
  • End-to-end understanding of networking, platforms, infrastructure, and cloud (public/private/hybrid).
  • Experience designing and deploying Identity and Access Management (IAM) technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of security infrastructure operations.
  • Demonstrated experience securing applications and infrastructure in cloud environments.

    • Desirable Qualifications:

    • Degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or related fields.
    • Relevant certifications:
      • CISSP (ISC2)
      • CISM / CISA (ISACA)
      • TOGAF (The Open Group)
      • GIAC (SANS)
