About The Role

Our Digital and Creative Solutions is a dynamic team who empower our internal and external clients by transforming complex data into actionable insights and innovative solutions.

You will deliver high quality data management, spatial analysis and digital visualisation services across a range of environmental projects. You will leverage your strong analytical capabilities, creative problem-solving skills and take a collaborative approach to develop innovative geospatial solutions for complex data challenges.

Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will play a key role in driving impactful outcomes for JBS&G and its clients through the effective integration of spatial technologies and digital tools

Key Responsibilities

As a senior consultant, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality spatial, digital imagery, and data management services as part of the Digital & Creative Solutions (DCS) team, including the creation of maps, figures, and graphics for reports, presentations, and other project deliverables.
  • Support senior staff on high-profile, technically complex, or high-risk projects by contributing technical expertise and spatial solutions.
  • Mentor and provide training to junior team members across all facets of GIS and DCS service delivery.
  • Contribute to the development of proposals and technical reports, in collaboration with senior staff.
  • Assist in the continuous improvement of internal systems, workflows, and data management processes through technical input and innovation.
  • Manage own workload effectively and work independently while maintaining strong collaboration within multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Analyse, interpret, and communicate complex spatial datasets to support clear, data-driven decision-making for internal and external clients.
  • Design and implement innovative, fit-for-purpose geospatial solutions aligned with project and client needs.
  • Liaise with project teams to understand requirements and deliver tailored spatial products and services.
  • Support the design, configuration, and deployment of web maps, dashboards, and online spatial information systems.
  • Stay current with emerging spatial technologies, data analytics tools, and digital solutions relevant to the environmental consulting industry.

About You

  • Degree or qualification in GIS, Spatial Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Technology, or similar.
  • Proven experience using ESRI suite of software products, including desktop and online
  • Proficiency tools required for position (E.g. ArcGIS, Surfer, AGOL, Microsoft Suite, QGIS, Global Mapper).
  • Experience in navigation technical challenge and finding solutions for clients using your strong problem-solving skills and creative approaches
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a collaborative team
  • Helpful to have some experience across a moderate to broad range of environmental data, however this is not essential.
  • Experience in a client or customer facing role highly desirable.

You will be required to obtain a police clearance prior to commencement.
