We’re on the lookout for a passionate and technically minded brewer to step into a newly created Technical Brewer role – a key driver of brewing excellence, quality, and innovation.
This is a Permanent full-time position, based at our Tooheys Brewery in Lidcombe.
As a Technical Brewer, you’ll sit at the heart of our brewing operations – ensuring our brews are not just great, but consistently world-class. From raw material management to continuous improvement and NPD, with a focus on Licensed Brand brewing, your work will shape the brews we know and love.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Drive Right First Time performance in Licensed Brands from brewhouse, transfer, to bright beer by owning recipes, setpoints, and schedules
- Champion safety leadership and build a strong safety culture through proactive engagement and use of Lion’s Safety Management System
- Be the process owner and sponsor for Filters and De-alcohol Plant, partnering with operations teams to deliver brewing best practice
- Manage and partner with suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and improvements via reviews, SCARs, and value creation activities
- Lead liquid development for new products and execute brewing elements of NPD with precision
- Own the data – drive chemical and water use efficiency and deliver environmental and quality improvements
- Tertiary qualification in Science or related field (IBD Diploma/Master Brewer highly regarded)
- Strong experience in process and quality systems in a manufacturing/laboratory environment
- Proven capability in recipe design, raw material selection and continuous improvement methods (5Y, DMAIC, FIT projects)
- Solid stakeholder management, data-led decision making, and the ability to challenge the status quo
- A leader without direct reports – someone who influences, engages, and uplifts technical standards through collaboration
