Working for Cricket Australia means that you become a part of Australia's proud history and help us look toward the future. Our players and teams are successful, inspiring and reflect the values and aspirations of the community they represent. As an organisation, we are seeking to drive bold, transformative change in digital experiences, junior participation, culturally diverse inclusion, gender equality and sustainability, whilst also reimagining the W/BBL, building player connection through storytelling and playing our part in developing the game globally.

Our purpose is clear; to unite and inspire everyone to love and play cricket. Cricket is so much more than just a game; it brings people together and binds us all through our shared experiences.

This is your opportunity to join a purpose led organisation that truly makes a difference to Australians.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is an exciting time for us, as due to a secondment opportunity for one of our team members, we are searching for a Senior Payroll Specialist to join our Finance Department and backfill our secondee on a 12-month fixed-term contract. We're looking for someone to process multiple payrolls for two entities including the accurate completion of month end payroll processes, reporting and tax compliance.

If you consider yourself detail orientated, with excellent attention to detail, great organisational skills and an ability to manage and process large volumes of data accurately and on time, we want to hear from you. We are looking for someone who will be an integral part of our Payroll team supporting the organisation through a significant change in systems.

Reporting to the Head of Financial Control, you'll be responsible for:

  • Processing and reconciling fortnightly and monthly payrolls accurately and on time, including special and termination payments.

  • Calculating entitlements in line with relevant industrial instruments and Memorandum of Understandings (e.g. retainers, match payments, royalties).

  • Maintaining payroll systems (iChris and HR21), ensuring data integrity, system upgrades, and user access controls.

  • Maintaining accurate payroll records and processing employee pay changes.

  • Acting as backup payroll support for Cricket Australia as required.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Experience managing end-to-end payroll independently

  • Experience using payroll software

  • Demonstrated ability/desire to investigate problems and identify solutions with a customer centric approach

  • Ability to analyse complex issues, review system processes and implement practical solutions

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Strong stakeholder relationship and influencing skills

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across all levels, including senior leaders and executives

  • Ability to deal with conflicting priorities and respond to business needs promptly and accurately while meeting deadlines

  • Sound knowledge of relevant tax laws, superannuation and compliance

Although not essential, experience with iChris21, Workday, and familiarity with modern awards and compliance obligations, would be highly regarded.

The successful candidate will preferably be based in Melbourne, however, we are also open to you working remote from within Australia.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?

Our employees at Cricket are gifted an additional week of leave at the end of the season! As a CA employee, you will also have other benefits including:

  • Tickets to the Cricket for you to take your friends and family and experience Australia's favourite game!

  • A flexible working environment, meaning we strike the balance of what you need and what works for the business (this isn't limited to working remotely)

  • Discounts from our partners such as ASICS and salary packaging options

  • A multitude of leave types including paid parental leave and volunteer leave
