Melbourne Legacy is a for-purpose organisation committed to supporting the families of veterans who have sacrificed their lives or health in service to our country. With a rich history dating back to 1923, Melbourne Legacy are the only ex-service organisation in Australia dedicated solely to the care of veterans' families.
We are seeking a driven and compassionate Fundraising Officer to join their Fundraising team. In this full-time role, you will report to the Fundraising Team Leader to strengthen donor engagement, coordinate fundraising initiatives and provide excellent supporter experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor supporter inboxes and triage enquiries
- Respond to donor and community supporter enquiries in a timely, professional manner
- Process donations and manage records using Salesforce CRM
- Provide phone-based support to donors including donation processing and gratitude calls
- Support the delivery of appeals and implementation of donor journeys for single and regular giving
- Assist with marketing coordination and distribution of fundraising merchandise
- Facilitate In Memory fundraising requests and mailout packs
- Support community fundraisers and maintain relationships with branches and partner clubs
- Assist with peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns and major events such as Legacy Week and Legacy Challenge
- Provide general administrative support and maintain knowledge of internal procedures and compliance
Key Selection Criteria:
- Proven experience in fundraising and/or community engagement roles, preferably in the not-for-profit sector
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-centred approach
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Experience with CRM systems (ideally Salesforce), MS Office and fundraising platforms
- A strong understanding of donor engagement, marketing support and campaign coordination
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a professional, empathetic attitude
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Relevant tertiary qualification in marketing, communications or a related field (desirable)
- National Police Check and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
