About The Role
This is your opportunity to join the Redpath team at the Tanami mine site located near the WA and NT border, whereby Redpath are responsible for an ongoing vertical shaft project. Tanami has been set up using industry leading technology, and Redpath have continued these standards with excavation of more than 1000m deep shafts.
The HSEC Manager is responsible for the management, legal compliance, coordination, monitoring and implementation of all health, safety and environment requirements for the Tanami shaft Redpath contract
Key Responsibilities
- Identify improvements or updates for safety & training needs for all departments
- Ensure employees comply with Redpath's management operation procedures (MOP’s)
- Maintain the training needs analysis for Redpath
- Coordinate all training for personnel
- Ensure training documentation for all personnel is filed and maintained correctly
- Ensure all the project's environmental requirements are met
- Coordinate and participate in Redpath’s workplace inspection schedule on site including tracking personnel participation levels
- Conduct rehabilitation and return to work coordinators duties on site including compiling documentation, managing injured workers, consulting with health professionals
- Conduct risk assessment and JSA training
- Prepare and conduct toolbox and safety meetings
- Assist the operations with the risk management processes on site such as JSA’s and risk assessments
- Conduct investigations for incidents as required on site and within designated time frames
- Ensure correct reporting of all reportable incidents that occur on site within designated time frames
- Provide advice to management of Workplace Health and Safety legislative requirements
- Attend and contribute to safety, roster change, toolbox talks and staff meetings
About You
- Experience in a Senior Safety professional role within the mining industry
- Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (beneficial)
- Demonstrated people management experience
- Knowledge of safety management and systematic approach
- Current knowledge of relevant Workplace Health and Safety and Workers’ Compensation legislation
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Solid planning and organisational skills to schedule and allocate training
- Ability to problem solve and be adaptable
- Attention to detail ensuring all standards and compliance are met
- A drive for continuous improvement and innovation
- Qualifications in Incident Cause Analysis Measures (ICAM) or equivalent highly desired
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong customer relations management skills
