Position Description

Sync Lift Engineering is currently looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Estimator to join our Gladstone team. This is a critical role within the business as this is where tenders are priced and won for all work coming into the workshop.

This role with Sync Lift Enginering is one where you can take pride in your work and be part of unique and exciting projects from Pit to Port.


In this role you will be responsible for

  • Completing confidential project and Workshop estimates and clarifications.
  • Managing estimating process through to bid submission.
  • Managing workshop estimating, budgets, resource and equipment allocation and utilisation.
  • Meeting project commitments, manage methodologies, and manage change effectively to meet project objectives.
  • Ensuring the Workshop status, issues and successes are communicated to project team, stakeholders and management and documented appropriately.
  • Ensuring quality standards are maintained.
  • Regularly communicating with stakeholders and team members and attend all relevant meetings.
  • Attending client tender reviews, site walks, and engineering meetings as required.
  • Ensure all estimation and project documents follow SLE’s document control guidelines.


Requirements

  • Relevant trade certification or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years’ relevant multidisciplinary fabrication, construction, engineering, and procurement knowledge.
  • Familiarity with workshop and site environments.
  • Thorough understanding of current Australian welding standards.
  • Highly effective communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Highly effective troubleshooting, diagnostic, planning and time management skills.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines, work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in relevant estimation and project management software (Microsoft suite).


Highly Desirable

  • Previous experience in an estimator role.
  • Tertiary qualifications.


Successful candidates must be able to meet all site entry requirements including drug and alcohol testing and a pre-employment medical.
