Gladstone Women’s Health Centre (GWHC) is looking for a passionate, trauma-informed Youth Counsellor to join our growing team. This is a newly created role in response to increasing community need, and we welcome applications to be based in either Biloela or Gladstone.
We are a community-based, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of women and young people, with a strong focus on support for those affected by domestic and family violence and sexual assault.

Flexible location: Work from either Biloela or Gladstone.
Salary Packaging - up to $15,900 tax-free, to increase your take-home pay.

About The Role
This role provides specialist therapeutic counselling, safety planning, and case coordination to children and young people impacted by domestic and family violence and/or sexual assault. You’ll work independently and collaboratively to support victim-survivors and advocate for their safety, healing and empowerment. You may also facilitate group sessions and engage in outreach with local schools and services.
You’ll be joining a team that is passionate about place-based support and prevention—making a real difference every day.
You’ll Need
A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counselling, or Diploma of Counselling with or eligibilty for ACA registration.
Demonstrated experience providing counselling to young people impacted by trauma, violence or abuse.
A deep commitment to trauma-informed, feminist, and culturally responsive practice.
A valid Blue Card, Police Check, and C-Class driver’s licence.
