Australia LPNG is the Australia's largest producer of natural gas, supplying Queensland's domestic gas market, as well as processing natural gas into liquefied natural gas to meet growing export demand. About The Role
APLNG is seeking a dynamic Head of People & Culture to partner directly with the APLNG leadership team. In this pivotal role, you’ll drive the execution of the APLNG Culture Plan, influence senior stakeholders, and embed people practices that support long-term business success.
This 12-month contract role (part-time .8 considered) offers a unique opportunity to create lasting cultural change, working closely with senior leaders and key stakeholders across one of Australia's most significant energy joint ventures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and execute the APLNG Culture Plan, managing scope, schedule, budget, and impact measurement.
- Coach and support senior leaders, enabling them to lead cultural transformation and embed new ways of working.
- Design and implement fit-for-purpose people programs, practices and policies aligned to business priorities.
- Act as a trusted advisor on complex people matters, including performance, leadership, and employee relations
- Strengthen organisational capability, ensuring APLNG is positioned as a destination workplace of the future.
- Define the ongoing P&C operating model, including the transition plan post-contract phase.Build collaborative working relationships with Origin, ConocoPhillips, and APLNG stakeholders.
- Proven experience in a senior People & Culture leadership role, ideally within a subsidiary or asset-based organisation.
- A track record of delivering measurable people and culture outcomes aligned to strategic business goals.
- Strong capability in coaching senior leaders, navigating ambiguity, and driving cultural change.
- A strategic mindset with practical delivery skills – able to move from concept to execution with confidence.
- Excellent communication, influence, and stakeholder engagement abilities.High levels of empathy, integrity, and resilience – you're a trusted advisor who gets things done.
- Relevant qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.Experience in a commodity-based or joint venture environment is desirable but not essential.
