About Northern Beaches Hospital

Operated by Healthscope, Northern Beaches Hospital (NBH) is located in Frenchs Forest, only 13kms north of Sydney CBD. The hospital is a contemporary 488 bed facility comprising of 60% public and 40% private beds. Providing a wide range of health services to the local community, including Surgery, a 50 bed Emergency Department, Intensive Care, Birthing, Paediatrics, Cardiac, Mental Health, Dialysis, Cancer Centre and Outpatients.

NBH has 13 operating theatres, one hybrid/cardiac catheter theatre, two Catheter Laboratories and four endoscopy procedure rooms, all supported by a critical care unit which includes two intensive care wards.

About The Role

As an Assistant in Nursing, and to be successful in this role you will have:

  • Certificate III/IV (from an approved training provider) in Community and Health Services, Personal Care
  • Prior experience in an acute care hospital
  • Minimum 1 years’ experience in the acute setting.
  • Demonstrated practice according to evidence based nursing and latest contemporary practices in nursing
  • Sound clinical decision making and problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Flexibility with shift allocations, timing.

As An Assistant In Nursing Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Assist nurses or hospital staff in carrying out patient care duties
  • Work as part of the health care team; practice in accordance with state legislation and within the designated scope of practice parameters
  • Assess patients using therapeutic skills
  • Provide recommendations to specialist treatment programs based on their diagnosis
  • Answering patient/visitor/customer enquiries

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant experience against the current Healthscope Enterprise Bargaining Agreement.
