About The Role

The position is situated within Family Services, which forms apart of the Family & Community Programs at Mackillop. The position is based at the South Melbourne office and will form a part of the wider Family Services Team in Southern Melbourne incorporating Family Preservation & Reunification. The role will work as a part of the Southern Melbourne Family Services Alliance, and reports to the IFS & Early Help Coordinator.

The Integrated Family Services Practitioner will be responsible for providing casework within the Southern Melbourne Family Services Alliance. The Integrated Family Services Practitioner will provide direct case management to families.

This is a Fixed Term Part Time 22.8 hours per week until 30.06.2027 opportunity based in Dandenong, VIC within our Family and Community Services. The position reports to the Integrated Family Services & Early Help Coordinator.

Key Selection Criteria

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, child development, psychology or a related subject area. Tertiary qualifications with experience in family work will be considered.
  • An understanding and experience in applying contemporary family violence theoretical frameworks in the intervention with vulnerable children, young people and parents with complex needs.
  • Thorough understanding of child development and the issues that vulnerable children, young people and families face
  • Well-developed skills in assessing risks, needs and safety for children, young people and families
  • High level casework and case management skills and experience working with complex and culturally diverse families
  • Capacity to engage with vulnerable children, young people and families.

You Must Have a

  • Valid and current Driver’s Licence;
  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by MacKillop);
  • Valid Employee Working with Children Check;
