Your new role

This is an exciting time in Sacred Heart Mission’s (SHM) history, as we are now working within our bold new strategic plan, Strategy 2030: Serving more people and more communities. As part of this plan, SHM is becoming more future ready and strengthening our foundations.

As a part of this, we are now seeking a Payroll Officer to ensure that accurate and timely payroll services are delivered to our 400+ employees. This role is available for 12-months with the likelihood for extension.

Your day-to-day

Responsibilities

As the Payroll Officer you’ll work reporting to the Payroll Specialist to deliver end-to-end payroll services across the organisation. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating as part of a two-person payroll team to process accurate and timely payroll.
  • Providing prompt, high-quality support to staff by responding to payroll queries and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring employee data is accurately set up and maintained in our systems
  • Partnering with the People and Culture team to work together for processes related to the employee lifecycle, WorkCover payments, reporting, and other payroll-related functions.

We're looking for someone with

  • Proven experience supporting the delivery of accurate payroll services to a diverse range of employment types (including retail, community services, aged care and home care).
  • Experience interpreting modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive and collaborative mindset.
  • Experience using Access Micropay (highly regarded).
  • Experience with time and attendance technology (Humanforce experience is an advantage).
  • A qualification in business, accounting or a related field (desirable).

  • $38.47 – $41.25 per hour (dependent on experience & qualifications).
