Talent International is currently recruiting for an APS6 Project Officer x 4 to work for one of our Federal Government clients based in Campbelltown / Newcastle. The position is a 12-month contract role with the possibility of extension. The role pays $60.26/hr + Super.

7.6 hours per day and 38 hours per week

Responsibilities

  • Developing and managing project plans and schedules in accordance with the Agency’s project management framework.
  • Providing specialist advice and technical expertise for staff and stakeholders.
  • Undertaking evaluation and analysis including the preparation of draft reports on relevant project activities.
  • Creating, monitoring and reporting on processes that support the delivery of critical work.
  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to gather input, provide updates and ensure ownership of actions.
  • Prepare written materials such as briefs, reports, status updates and presentations for senior leadership and internal stakeholders
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and assisting with the management of project risks, issues and benefits, expanding the knowledge within the branch and division and across the client, enhancing the support for Senior Leadership.
  • Contributing towards and coordinating project quality management across the branch and division to ensure that project deliverables are fit for purpose and meet Agency needs.

Essential Criteria

  • Apply project management methodologies to plan, monitor and deliver work packages
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision as an effective member of a team, using a high level of initiative to manage competing priorities
  • Demonstrated experience initiating, establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Communicate complex information clearly and concisely through written briefs, reporting and presentations
  • Apply judgement to resolve issues and make evidence informed decision

Desirable criteria

  • Experience in managing end-to-end projects within government or community services, including planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, including with community, government, and service providers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated understanding of engagement principles, or consultation processes.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and reporting systems.
