The Group (TMT / Technology and Digital)

Gilbert + Tobin’s Technology and Digital (T+D) team works closely with our clients to maximise the opportunities of digital transformation, and enable them to become agile, intelligent, digital businesses. We are passionate T+D specialists, and we have built a leading reputation across multiple industries. For more than a decade we have been ranked in the top tier of The Legal 500 Asia Pacific and Chambers Asia Pacific for T+D.

Our specialist team operates at the cutting edge of digital, data, cyber and AI regulation. We combine deep know-how with the agility and ingenuity to help our clients get the most value from digital innovation. From steering tech acquisitions to success, to resolving complex disputes for major tech players or contracting mission-critical software, our expertise helps our clients stay ahead of regulatory change and capture growth opportunities.

The Role

Working as a part of this highly dynamic and high performing team you will gain exposure to a wide variety of matters including:

• Technology – outsourcing, major projects, cloud, as-a-service and agile
• Complex contracting – working on bespoke contracts and commercial arrangements
• Media, privacy & big data – acquisition, distribution and licencing of digital content, data protection, cross-border privacy compliance
• Telecommunications – infrastructure development, acquisitions, JV’s, licensing etc.

About You

As our successful candidate you should be able to demonstrate a desire, and the capacity, to work on high profile and technically challenging transactions. You should be an ambitious high performer, looking to work in an environment where your performance will be duly recognised and rewarded accordingly. In addition, you will have:

• 2-4 years post admission experience
• Strong commercial and IT/technology experience
• Superior analytical, communications and drafting skills
• Commercial awareness and the ability to work effectively with clients
• The ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment
