From tackling cyberbullying and child sexual exploitation, to confronting emerging harms brought about by new innovations such as generative AI and immersive technologies, we oversee Australia’s online safety landscape.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in a small and growing agency working on the front lines of online safety. The Quality Assurance (QA) and Business Analyst (BA) role is responsible for managing the QA test suite, building no-code/low-code automated tests, and ensuring the quality and functionality of our web and digital products. The role will also provide the opportunity to engage with the organisation to gather and analyse business requirements across various projects, providing scale to the team and to further develop a BA skillset.

To be eligible for employment with eSafety, applicants must be Australian citizens.
This vacancy is available on a non-ongoing basis. Non-ongoing roles may be offered for an initial period of up to 12 months with the possibility of extension or becoming ongoing. Suitable candidates may be placed in a merit pool from this selection process and the pool may be used to fill similar ongoing or non-ongoing roles. Applicants may have their application and assessment results shared with other Australian Public Service (APS) agencies looking to fill similar roles.

Quality Assurance

- Develop and manage test strategies that are tailored for several web products, including Learning Management Systems (LMS) and potentially Drupal / GovCMS sites.
- Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive test plans, cases, and scripts to ensure website functionality, usability, accessibility, and performance.
- Conduct manual and automated testing of websites to identify defects, inconsistencies, and potential improvements.
- Identify, document and track defects, working closely with developers and designers to ensure timely resolution.
- Proofread website for content accuracy, verify WCAG 2.1 accessibility compliance, and adherence of products to brand guidelines.
- Maintain clear and organised documentation of testing processes, outcomes, and outstanding issues.
- Work closely with the Digital Product team and stakeholders to gather, document, and analyse business requirements for new website features, enhancements, or projects.
- Translate business needs into functional specifications and user stories to guide development teams.
- Develop process flow diagrams, business requirements documents, and other supporting documentation.
