Purpose of the role
Greater Bank and Newcastle Permanent have come together to form NGM Group Ltd, a powerhouse in customer-owned banking. As our commercial capability grows, we’re excited to offer a key opportunity for a Procurement Specialist, reporting to the Category Manager within our General Business procurement stream.
In this role, you’ll work with stakeholders to identify solution requirements and apply smart procurement strategies that drive value for money, timely delivery, and customer satisfaction. You’ll lead commercial negotiations, manage third-party arrangements, and build strong internal and external relationships to support strategic business outcomes.

What will your key responsibilities include?
- Lead general business procurement activities, including tendering, negotiating, and forming contracts to meet commercial requirements.
- Build and manage strategic supplier relationships to drive performance in cost, service, and quality, including input into significant contract negotiations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify procurement needs and contribute to the development and continuous improvement of procurement frameworks, including strategy, governance, process, and technology.
- Ensure procurement practices align with regulatory and compliance requirements, including APRA prudential standards and modern slavery obligations.
- Support effective governance through accurate reporting of procurement activities to management and the Board.
- Identify, assess, and help manage procurement risks across business strategies.
- Contribute to the development of procedures and strategic partnerships that support organisational objectives and enhance procurement capability.
What are we looking for?
- Proven experience in general business procurement, with strong capability in tendering, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen, with a track record of achieving cost savings, service improvements, and value-for-money outcomes.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to develop strategic partnerships with external suppliers to support business priorities.
- High-level understanding of end-to-end procurement processes, including governance, compliance, and risk management.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a complex, cross-functional environment.
- Solid understanding of relevant legislative and regulatory requirements impacting procurement, including supply chain and governance obligations.
- Exceptional analytical and negotiation skills, with sound judgment and attention to detail.
- Experience in a similar role within financial services (desirable).
- Tertiary qualifications in a business-related field (desirable).
