The Role

Our Learning & Development Manager plays a key role in helping our team members grow, develop and thrive, both on the club floor and beyond! This role is all about bringing energy, expertise and a passion for people, to the way we design and deliver our Anytime Fitness training across our Australian network. You'll focus on creating L&D initiatives which drive sales and enhance club operations, supporting our Franchisees, their clubs, and teams in delivering exceptional service and achieving standout results.

Reporting to the Head of Change & Capability, you will work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders across our business, to ensure our learning experiences are practical, engaging, and aligned to what our people need to succeed. Whether it's refining existing programs, rolling out new ones, or delivering high-impact face-to-face and virtual sessions, this role is central to lifting capability and building confidence across our growing network. You'll also contribute to shaping our new skills competency matrix and play a hands-on role in managing our Learning Management System (LMS). From building training resources to supporting major launches, you will help bring learning to life across every part of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Change & Capability bring the broader L&D strategy to life
  • Work alongside the National Central Operations Manager, to support launching programs effectively to the business
  • Take ownership of key elements of the L&D strategic plan, leading implementation and leveraging training support roles across the business to ensure effective, large-scale rollout
  • Stay across industry trends and innovations, particularly within the franchise and fitness sectors, and continually evolve our learning programs to keep us ahead of the game and elevate our brand
  • Partner with the Learning & Development team to deliver exciting business-wide projects and provide mutual support across all initiatives
  • Build strong relationships with internal leaders, franchisees and the network to develop a deep understanding of their teams, challenges, and training needs, ensuring learning solutions are relevant and impactful
  • Engage with SMEs to review and refine content, optimise delivery methods, and drive business-wide engagement in training initiatives
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of a skills and competency matrix for our club team members
  • Assist in identifying capability gaps and developing learning solutions and resources to support the matrix
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on capability development, delivering relevant tools, resources, and training to enable successful implementation and adoption
  • Contribute to the ongoing design, build, and enhancement of our LMS, helping shape a platform that’s user-friendly for our network, engaging and aligned to our evolving business needs
  • Design, create and develop digital content using authoring tools for self paced & blended learning programs

Experience And About You

  • Relevant qualifications in Learning & Development, Human Resources, Education or similar are desirable
  • Proven experience in a learning & development or facilitator role ideally within the fitness, hospitality or similar sectors
  • Prior experience managing and supporting LMS platforms
  • Experience in developing competency or skills matrices
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written 
  • Demonstrated capacity to develop relationships and effectively communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders 
  • Proven ability to design and deliver end-to-end learning projects
  • Previous experience delivering sales training or experience in the fitness industry is highly regarded
  • Proven experience developing talent
  • A collaborative, solutions-focused mindset, with a strong ability to innovate and adapt to industry trends
  • Self-motivated 
  • Ability to work under pressure and determine work priorities without compromising attention to detail
