The Role

We are seeking a capable and experienced legal secretary to join our Estate Group, primarily supporting lawyers working in estate administration. You may also provide assistance to other practice areas from time to time.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Taking instructions and completing tasks with autonomy;
  • Ensuring work is accurate and on time;
  • File management;
  • Dictaphone typing including correspondence and file notes;
  • Diary management and control of deadlines;
  • Liaising with clients and other relevant parties;
  • Monthly billing;
  • Entering client data into Affinity; and
  • General administrative tasks including photocopying, opening/closing files and binding documents.

The Candidate

You will be a professional, self-motivated legal secretary with strong communication skills and a high level of accuracy. Experience in estate administration is preferred, and familiarity in using Affinity and iManage.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience supporting lawyers in estate administration or probate matters
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • A confident and courteous manner when dealing with clients during sensitive matters
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently
  • A collaborative, team-oriented approach
