About the opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join our senior leadership team and help lead our Utilities business nationally. You will support New South Wales as well our Queensland and Victoria teams.

In this role you will lead and manage engineering aspects of key water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This role offers an opportunity to shape systems and processes, bring governance frameworks to life, and play a pivotal part in our next stage of growth. Day to day you will;

  • Lead and oversee engineering management for water and wastewater projects, from design through to construction.
  • Drive the development of systems, processes, and governance frameworks to ensure high-quality project delivery.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with design teams, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective, and aligned with project objectives.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance across design and construction phases, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
  • Work closely with project managers, site managers, construction teams, and other key stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination between design, engineering, and construction activities.
  • Lead and mentor engineering teams, ensuring they have the necessary resources, skills, and training to deliver on project objectives.
  • Identify potential risks related to engineering and construction and implement mitigation strategies to minimise impact on project delivery.
  • Support the growth of the water and wastewater team through mentorship and by fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

This role can be based in either our Sydney office or one of our other key metropolitan offices, including Brisbane or Melbourne, with travel as required. We are happy to consider other flexible work options and hybrid working. Let us know in your application what you’re looking for.

What you’ll bring to the team

  • Proven experience in engineering management within the water and wastewater sector.
  • Strong expertise in design and construct projects, with hands-on experience in contractor-side delivery highly desirable.
  • Background in mechanical engineering highly desirable with strong experience in design management.
  • A passion for building and improving systems, processes, and governance frameworks to drive project success.
  • You will be a natural problem solver who enjoys solving complex problems and partnering with clients and project teams to provide innovative solutions.
