The Role

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Proposals Manager, based in Perth, to join our global New Business team. Reporting to the Global Business Development Manager, you will be part of a newly formed team responsible for identifying and securing global new business. This is a highly collaborative role requiring an excellent communicator to liaise both internally and externally to drive client success and our business growth. With customer service as your ethos, you will be responsible for collaborating with the Technical team, developing a Proposal strategy to win in collaboration with the Technical team, collaborating with the relevant Business Development Manager regarding client relationship management, and generally supporting the Proposal team, ensuring we consistently deliver winning solutions to our clients globally which conform to their expressed needs and include any other appropriate value-add options. New Business Strategy & Relationship Management

  • Contribute to the development and continual improvement of the New Business Strategy by conducting competitive analysis, leveraging client insights and collaborating with New Business team members and related stakeholders through the application of clear goal statements to deliver successful Proposals in line with the prospect pipeline in order to achieve growth targets with action plans including accountability for performance
  • Develop and implement a Relationship Management approach, engaging the broader business teams, establishing and nurturing strategic partnerships and managing client relationships across the globe during Proposal development and submission.
  • Assist the Business Development Managers, if required, by attending industry events, conferences, and networking activities to promote Mining Plus’s services and experience.
  • Maintain the relevant components of the corporate Opportunities/Proposals database.

New Business Team Collaboration

  • Contribute to the identification and development of new value-add services supported by sound business plans.
  • Develop competitive Proposal submissions which conform to the client’s needs in the first instance and where appropriate offers them additional value-add options, to achieve our business financial targets based on the approved prospect pipeline
  • Working with the Technical team Area Managers globally, identify appropriate Proposal Leads and technical team members for appointment to the Proposal team which provides optimal use of resources for Proposal preparation and availability for billable project work. Create and maintain effective communications channels for client relationship and Proposal team management

Global Collaboration and Mentoring

  • As required, work closely with internal teams, including technical experts, project managers, and marketing, to ensure the successful delivery of client projects and proposals.
  • Provide feedback, identify development opportunities and provide mentoring on Proposal development skills to other team members and business unit leaders.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Experience: 10+ years' experience in Proposal development and management with a strong understanding of the mining industry and technical mining services with exposure to mine cost estimating and proposal team management.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with fellow team members, business associates and clients.
  • Technical Background: A technical engineering background is highly regarded but not essential. Similarly, for any career exposure to mine infrastructure concept-level design and or construction. Experience working with CRM and prospect management database tool(s) is desirable and preparedness to do so in an outcome driven environment is mandatory.
  • Client-centric: Proven track record in maintaining long-term client relationships, with an emphasis on client advocacy and balancing client-business needs.
  • Outcomes driven: Proven track record of achieving business growth targets through sound resource planning and time management in the development and implementation of sound strategies to win which set up the business for success and exceed client expectations.
