Field Supervisor - Fire - Newcastle Region

Job Summary:

CBC Facilities Maintenance Pty Ltd have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Field Supervisor - Fire to join our expanding business and lead our team of internal and external trades who install and maintain wet and dry fire systems and equipment.

This role is based in Newcastle, NSW, with coverage throughout the region and will oversee the day-to-day operations, manage resources and personnel, implement strategies for improvement and work closely with the team to meet organisational goals.

About the Role:

As a Field Supervisor - Fire, you will take on a hybrid leadership role that combines field-based supervision with key office responsibilities.

You will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of fire protection services, supporting and guiding technicians onsite, and ensuring compliance with Australian Standards.

In addition to hands-on technical work, you will contribute to quoting, compliance reporting, and job tracking.

This role requires a proactive leader who leads by example and is committed to safety, quality, and exceptional service outcomes. Key Responsibilities:

Field-Based Duties:

  • Provide hands-on support for installation, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fire protection systems (fire alarms, sprinklers, emergency/exit lighting, extinguishers, etc.)
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of field technicians
  • Conduct site audits and inspections to ensure high standards of work
  • Scope repair, upgrade, and installation works across client sites
  • Prepare and submit detailed, accurate quotes based on site assessments
  • Act as the key field contact for clients on technical issues and solutions

Office-Based Duties:

  • Support compliance reporting and documentation in line with contract obligations
  • Ensure all work complies with Australian Standards (AS1851, AS1670, etc.)
  • Track job completion, technician productivity, and material use
  • Assist in monthly contract reporting and governance meetings
  • Liaise with internal departments (HSEQ, projects, admin) to support smooth delivery
  • Identify areas for process improvement and drive better service outcomes

Requirements:

  • Police Check
  • Driver's License
  • WHS/OHS Induction Card (White/Blue/Red Ticket)
  • NSW Electrical Licence (Supervisor or Contractor)
  • Cert II Fire Protection Inspection and Testing
  • Low Voltage Rescue (including CPR)
