Eligibility to Apply: To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments).

This vacancy is to be filled within the WA Government Health System by secondment, temporary deployment or Fixed Term Contract. Current WA Government Health employees (including permanent, fixed term contract and those on secondment) are eligible to apply.

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 30/10/2026.

Position Profile: We are seeking to establish a pool of skilled and suitably experienced individuals to the role of Consultant - Physician - Geriatrics. Leading the multidisciplinary team, you will provide specialist geriatric medicine services to patients, whilst promoting patient safety and quality of care. Successful applicants will provide leadership, orientation, training, supervision and education, where relevant, for doctors in training, Health Service Medical Practitioners and other health workers. This position, in collaboration with the Head of Department and other Consultants, works to achieve national, state and EMHS performance standards and targets. The Consultant works within the scope of clinical practice as defined and recommended by the EMHS Area Medical Credentialing Committee.

Applicants must have Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (RACP) or receives election to the RACP Fellowship, prior to appointment, to be eligible for a position at the commencement of appointment
