The Role

We’re currently seeking a relationship and strategy focussed Commercial Key Account Manager to drive growth, strengthen customer partnerships, and lead commercial development across Queensland.
The Role
As the Commercial Key Account Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of medium-to-large business customers. Your role is pivotal in driving B2B sales performance, expanding product category penetration, and building long-term, strategic relationships.
You’ll work cross-functionally with stakeholders across retail, merchandising, marketing, and finance to deliver tailored solutions that enhance revenue, strengthen our competitive edge, and support Total Tools' continued leadership in the trade industry.
What You’ll Do
Customer Growth & Business Development
- Develop and execute account strategies to grow revenue and market share
- Identify untapped sales opportunities and expand customer footprint within key industry sectors
- Lead pricing negotiations, contract agreements, and business reviews to deliver value and profitability
- Analyse account trends and performance data to drive future growth planning
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers across major accounts
- Conduct joint business planning and regular account reviews
- Act as the lead contact for customer issues, ensuring prompt and effective resolution
- Promote exclusive brand offerings and co-branded solutions to key clients
- Drive initiatives to improve satisfaction, retention and long-term value
- Implement tailored engagement plans for key accounts, using CRM to track and monitor performance
- Champion brand loyalty programs and encourage adoption of exclusive ranges
- Partner with Total Tools franchisees and support office teams to deliver best-in-class service
- Collaborate with merchandising, operations and marketing to align on availability, campaigns and value delivery
- Coordinate with finance to optimise rebate models, pricing structures and customer profitability
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years in B2B key account management, commercial sales, or business development
- Proven track record of managing large accounts and delivering strong revenue outcomes
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Strong understanding of strategic sales planning, financial metrics, and commercial contracts
- Strategic thinking with a solutions-first mindset
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication ability
- High proficiency in CRM systems, data analysis tools and reporting platforms
- A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to operate autonomously and within teams
