Paragon is a privately owned specialist engineering consultancy firm operating throughout Australia, with a focus on the infrastructure and building sectors. Our expertise includes ground structures, bridges, associated infrastructure assets, foundations, shoring, and temporary structures.

We serve a diverse client base, including local authorities, infrastructure asset managers, and construction companies. Our range of services encompasses structural and geotechnical design, infrastructure asset condition assessment, project management, and structural and vibration monitoring.

Due to continued growth, we are searching for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team.

The Role

As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will take ownership of the design and analysis of deep foundations, shoring systems, and soil-structure interaction models. Working on high-impact infrastructure projects, you will play a key role in project delivery, client engagement, and ensuring technical quality and compliance across all stages of design and execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and analysis of deep foundations and shoring systems for a range of infrastructure and construction projects.
  • Conduct advanced soil-structure interaction analyses, utilising Plaxis, Wallap, and other geotechnical software.
  • Develop comprehensive geotechnical interpretive Reports.
  • Prepare and review detailed technical design reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to industry standards.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, supporting their technical growth and development.
  • Ensure all project deliverables meet compliance standards and client requirements, from conceptualisation to completion.


About You:

  • 7+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on foundation and shoring design.
  • Demonstrated experience in deep foundation design, soil-structure interaction, and shoring systems.
  • Proficiency in geotechnical design software, including Plaxis and Wallap, and familiarity with other relevant modelling tools.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and experience with local codes and regulations.
  • Degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering, with CPEng accreditation highly regarded.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in client liaison and a commitment to delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
