Varsity has been serving up banging burgers and big sporting events to the people of Perth for over 10 years now, and we’re not stopping any time soon. With 9 venues in WA, and more to come, we want to share our passion for food, drinks, and sports with as many people as possible.

What started out as 3 mates opening their own American inspired uni bar in Nedlands in 2013, has turned into 9 of Perth’s destination venues for anyone looking for an epic night out. Throughout this growth, the mission remains, to provide an exciting place where people can come together to celebrate wins, share food and drinks, and play games.

As we continue our growth and look to expand with more venues, both here in Perth, and interstate, we’re looking for someone to join our team as our Sales & Events Executive!

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll lead the charge on driving function and event sales at Varsity, with a strong focus on outbound activity, converting leads and hitting targets.

  • Promptly manage and respond to all incoming leads across various channels with the aim to convert enquiries into sales
  • Driving outbound sales to secure new business for the venues
  • Building and managing a pipeline of group bookings, events and potential new clients
  • Creating custom packages to suit the client and drive spend
  • Preparing quotes and sending proposals to close deals
  • Following up after events to get feedback and secure repeat business
  • Tracking your sales performance to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets through developing strategies to increase functions
  • Attending meetings and liaising with the operational team to ensure a smooth handover of functions
  • Sharing insights to improve our sales process and being on top of industry trends to stay ahead in the market
  • Working closely with the venues to deliver a great customer experience
  • Assisting with the coordination, bookings and ticket sales for major events across the venues
  • Ensuring website, functions pack and online listings are kept up to date

Who We’re Looking For

You’re a people-person, problem-solver and go-getting who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You’ve got a passion for sales and love closing a deal as much as you love a Friday arvo burger.

Ideally, You’ll Have

  • 2+ years in a sales and events role, preferably in hospitality but not necessary
  • Experience in driving outbound sales and growing pipelines
  • Killer communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and take initiative
  • A love for structure, processes and getting stuff done
  • Confidence to run point across multiple venues and stakeholders
  • A flexible attitude

The Extras

  • Mostly Monday-Friday but we’re in hospitality – sometimes a big event or venue visit might require you outside of hours
  • Occasional interstate travel
