About The Role
This pivotal role requires a hands-on leader to support and enhance the organisation’s technology environment, ensuring security, reliability, and performance across all IT operations.
The successful candidate will be highly organised, with demonstrated experience in IT and Data management and have implemented successful IT service delivery models including management of outsourced managed service providers.
The role reports directly to the Head of IT, Data and Transformation and has five direct specialist reports in IT and Data domains and works closely with the Senior Leadership Team at Link Wentworth.

Link Wentworth offers staff:
- Full Time position (38 hours/week)
- Office-based in Chatswood or with occasional travel between Link Wentworth offices in metro Sydney
This pivotal role requires a hands-on leader to support and enhance the organisation’s technology environment, ensuring security, reliability, and performance across all IT operations.
The successful candidate will be highly organised, with demonstrated experience in IT and Data management and have implemented successful IT service delivery models including management of outsourced managed service providers.
The role reports directly to the Head of IT, Data and Transformation and has five direct specialist reports in IT and Data domains and works closely with the Senior Leadership Team at Link Wentworth.
Key Areas Of Responsibility Include
- Lead the management of IT operations and infrastructure to ensure high availability, scalability, and alignment with business needs, including business continuity and enterprise architecture.
- Oversee cybersecurity, risk, and compliance functions by implementing proactive controls, ensuring robust disaster recovery and incident response plans and maintaining regulatory compliance.
- Manage enterprise applications and software, including issue resolution, release updates, integrations, and change control.
- Drive enterprise data management through the implementation of data governance practices, security protocols, and efficient database administration.
- Manage IT financials, including the preparation of operational and capital budgets, vendor management, and performance benchmarking to optimise return on investment.
The ideal candidate will have:
Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent
- At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Extensive knowledge of IT and Communications infrastructure (hardware, data management, operating systems, cybersecurity, cloud etc)
- Extensive experience in systems management and maintenance
- Experience in managing a mix of outsourced IT service provision and internal IT resources, in the context of operating as a client of outsourced service providers
- Strong IT project management skills (business and technical)
- Effective team leadership and collaboration skills
- Experience in IT operations financial management

- A valid National Police Check (less than six (6) months old) to the satisfaction of Link Wentworth, to be renewed every five (5) years or earlier as reasonably required by Link Wentworth
- Willingness to comply with vaccination requirements imposed by Link Wentworth, including COVID-19 and other vaccinations, as determined by the organisation in accordance with current Government health advice, mandates, or directions
- Willingness to be office-based five (5) days per week
