Ryde Supported Independent Living (SIL) is robust and vibrant home supporting four male and two female clients with psychosocial, intellectual, and physical disabilities. This site provides high physical support, complex behaviour support and personal care.
We are looking for two skilled, proactive and reliable Disability Support Workers to join our dedicated casual workforce.
Please note: Applicants must have fulltime working rights and able to cover, AM, PM and Active night shifts.
What's in it for you?
We are aware there are quite a few compliance checks (listed below) for this role however, what’s important to us is that you have regular access to your own car and a P2 NSW Drivers Licence or higher and flexible availability across a 24/7 roster which may include, mornings (6am-2pm OR 7am-3pm), afternoons (2pm-10pm OR 3pm- 11pm), active/sleepover nights (10pm-6am OR 11pm-7am).

Please note: successful applicants will be required to hold a NDIS Worker Screening Check Clearance and a Working with Children Check. If you have lived or worked for a continuous period of 12 months or more in another country within the last 10 years, a certified International Police Check from that country/countries will also be required. As part of our Covid-19 response the Scope Covid-19 policy requires all our employees regardless of the job to have received at least 3 doses of a Covid-19 vaccine. - Support clients with complex mental health, psychosocial disabilities and high physical needs including personal care, safe manual handling, and the use of hoists.
- Rigorously follow BIS and care support plans as directed by clinical teams and site manager to best support complex behaviours.
- Encourage capacity building to enhance clients’ current skills, such as hygiene, safe relationships, domestic duties, using public transport and accessing the community safely.
- Promoting choice and control and show eagerness to participate in clients’ day to day routines, goals, and interests.
- To be efficient in computer skills and report writing!
