Description
We are seeking a highly motivated, commercially astute, and dynamic leader to spearhead our business development efforts throughout Australia and the wider APAC market. This role is pivotal across the full project lifecycle — from identifying new opportunities and leading bid development, through to strategic planning and overseeing operational execution. Your contribution will be critical in advancing our ambition to be the leading consultancy in global event delivery.
The Associate Director will lead on new business opportunities, manage, and deliver projects for Trivandi’s Operations & Delivery business unit across Australia and the broader APAC region This role has a dual focus: driving business development and ensuring exceptional client service delivery. Working closely with the Regional Director for Australia and APAC, and in collaboration with our UAE-based Director, the Associate Director will be instrumental in growing Trivandi’s footprint in the region across these areas;
- Business Development: Deliver on business development targets including preparing related strategy plans. Build a network of contacts and connections to grow business in the APAC region. Come forward with ideas for business development initiatives based upon own network and industry knowledge.
- Build and maintain CRM system. For management of business leads and client relationships.
- Project Delivery & Client Service: Maintain excellent client relations and the highest client service and – using real world knowledge and experience from the delivery of major events and projects to produce world class deliverables on all live projects.
- MarComs: Understand and support Trivandi’s marketing strategies and plans. attend industry conferences. Maintain client and stakeholder communications.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Developing new business with a particular focus on Australia;
- Growing our presence in the APAC region;
- Overseeing high quality bid preparations & submission;
- Nurturing relationships with existing clients;
- Identifying and activating Trivandi’s service offering in new sectors (e.g. Overlay)
- Develop and implement a strategic business development plan to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective clients, partners, and industry stakeholders. Leverage own network of contacts to create potential new opportunities.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to promote our services and build a robust pipeline of opportunities
- Own the proposal management process for assigned proposals, leading on the completion of expression of interest submissions, preparing responses to RFPs and client requests, ensuring high quality documentation and reporting.
- Tailor client bids and proposals according to the brief, including detailed budget forecasting for short, medium and long-term projects across APAC and globally.
- Draw on experience of events to produce copy for proposals including methodology sections and provide a clear explanation as to Trivandi’s proposition and value add.
- Participate in the bid decision making process, ensuring decisions are made in support of our strategic objectives.
- Contribute to the development of a central resource library to support our bid management process including case studies, capability statements etc.
- Contribute to the development of Trivandi’s pipeline of future event projects including inputting to business development strategy.
- Daily updates and monitoring of CRM software to track bids and client leads.
- Work closely with other team members on bid and proposal documentation
- Understand Trivandi’s marketing strategies to ensure alignment with Trivandi’s brand.
- Play a central role in the strategic and operational planning and delivery of events projects by applying previous experience and skills.
- Lead on assigned projects, ensuring an exceptional and consistent end-to-end service delivery to clients across public and private sector throughout the region.
- Apply previous events experience across a range of tasks including but not limited to:
- Experience with Overlay and Infrastructure including a strong grasp of commercial elements of events overlay from advisory through to execution.
- Identifying gaps / challenges from clients relating to Venue / Event Overlay and ability to sell Trivandi’s services including Design, PMO and Infrastructure delivery
- Client and account management - ensuring excellent relationships are established with the client and key stakeholders.
- Managing internal team members, subject matter experts (SMEs) and external suppliers across concurrent projects, ensuring that all parties deliver in line with contracted scopes and levels of service.
- Providing mentoring and support to junior team members to aid their development.
- Production and drafting of documentation including strategies, benchmarking, reports, presentations, plans, dashboards, progress reports etc.
- Quality assurance of all Trivandi documentation and content to achieve high standards.
- Management of projects to ensure delivery in line with client objectives, scope, budget and agreed timeframes.
- Review and comment upon client contracts.
- Ensure accurate monthly reporting on progress, risks, issues and opportunities.
- Commercial management of projects: monitor & report on delivery against established fee budgets ensuring profitability targets are achieved & a positive cashflow is maintained.
- Provide any other support to senior colleagues and to the wider business as may be required including on central business operations, internal processes etc.
- Where required, on-site operational delivery of events - represent Trivandi on-site ensuring exceptional and consistent end-to-end service delivery.
- General day to day administrative support within the Brisbane office.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Personal Skills and Experience The key knowledge, experience and qualifications we are looking for include:
- A successful track record with at least 10-15 years’ experience in major complex projects (sports, events, venues and infrastructure) at senior level
- Experience working in the APAC region for at least 5 years –specifically Australia
- A relevant professional qualification to at least degree level
- Experience of working on venues and/or heritage/cultural attractions.
- Proficient in English (both written and verbal).
- Assumed various leadership roles in personal life and professional career
- Experience in a Consulting environment, with significant experience in report writing, documentation and presentation / report-based delivery.
- Excellent financial and commercial acumen, with a strong grasp of Microsoft Excel.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, specifically PowerPoint
- Experience with Project Management / CRM software is advantageous.
- A natural ability to lead effectively - excellent leadership skills with an open and supportive style
- Ability to flawlessly present and communicate in both written and verbal forms and be empathetic across different audiences and cultural sensitivities.
