Responsibilities

  • Undertake Mechanical (Marine) Design Activities related to Ship Concept, Preliminary and Detailed Design in the following platform systems areas:
  • Main and auxiliary propulsion units and related systems;
  • Fluid systems;
  • HVAC; and
  • Auxiliary systems
  • Undertake analysis where required to support integration of main and auxiliary machinery and systems into naval ships.
  • Requirements analysis development and verification of design against requirements.
  • Perform engineering investigations and develop documentation such as reports and specifications.
  • Produce ship, compartment and equipment arrangement models (2D and 3D) as required to support integration of main and auxiliary machinery and systems into naval ships.
  • Liaise with clients and specialist subcontractors in the above areas where required.
  • Interface with other disciplines for the delivery of technical services.
  • Other duties as required to support design and consultancy activities.
  • Understanding of ILS, Training and Configuration Management issues as applicable to ship design.

  • Ensure all HSEQ Management system documentation is implemented and complied wit
  • Participate in the HSEQ Committee
  • Communicate and consult with team members on any HSEQ issues or concerns
  • Report all hazards and incidents in a timely manner and participate in incident investigations as required
  • Participate in any relevant HSEQ Training, Drills or Exercises
  • Participate in any relevant audits or inspections
  • Be responsible for their own health and safety and that of their team

Minimum Educational Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer with minimum tertiary qualifications in Mechanical / Marine Engineering.

Minimum Previous Experience

  • 5 years’ experience in Mechanical Engineering.
