Downer Energy and Utilities is seeking a Project Manager to join our team. This role will be based from our Service Delivery Hub (SDH) in Naval Base on a permanent basis.

The Opportunity

The Project Manager is responsible for the overall management and delivery of one of our new and growing contracts while also overseeing the SDH facility operations, including stores, logistics, and fabrication. This role is critical to ensuring the seamless coordination between off-site preparation and on-site execution, delivering value through strong leadership, operational oversight, and client-focused service. This position is instrumental in maintaining high standards of productivity and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and safe delivery.

What we are looking for

• Relevant trade qualification (Electrical or Mechanical) or degree in Engineering, supported by substantial experience in operational environments and project delivery, particularly in commissioning or continuous live plant settings. Preference will be given to candidates with Electrical or strong multi-discipline experience.
• Demonstrated commercial and contractual acumen, with proven experience in administering and managing contracts exceeding $50 million AUD per annum.
• Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Construction Management or a related discipline highly regarded

• Minimum 10 years of experience in the construction, mining, or resources sector, with a proven track record in managing multidisciplinary teams, multiple engineering disciplines on large-scale projects

• Proven leadership capability with a strong ability to manage, coordinate, and inspire multidisciplinary teams to achieve project outcomes. Demonstrated experience in planning, cost control, procurement, and resource management
• Must be willing to travel to site on a weekly basis (drive-in from Perth) to actively support execution activities and foster strong relationships with site personnel and the client.
