About Us
The Salvation Army is a Christian movement and one of Australia's largest and most-loved charities. We believe in doing good that transforms lives and futures for the better. It is this belief which drives us to find new ways and places where we can make a difference. From times of personal crisis to moments of national grief, we are always here — providing support, safety, community, and opportunity.
Why this role matters
Are you ready to change lives with your compassion, your expertise, and your unwavering belief in recovery and safety?
We’re searching for a Psychologist – Family Violence who brings not just skills and qualifications, but heart, strength, and fierce dedication to the women and children who need us most.
About The Role
In this deeply meaningful role, you will walk alongside women and children who have experienced the devastating impacts of family violence and complex trauma, offering them not only therapeutic support but a renewed sense of safety, dignity, and hope. As a specialist trauma-informed practitioner, you will deliver evidence-based interventions that help survivors heal and reclaim their lives. You will provide crucial secondary consultations to support and guide your colleagues within the Family Violence team, helping them navigate the complexities of trauma with care and expertise.
At every step, you will hold space for diverse voices and ensure that every individual you work with is met with cultural sensitivity, inclusion, and respect. This is more than a job—it’s an opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of those who need it most.
How You Will Make An Impact
The Salvation Army is a child safe organisation and is committed to protecting children and young people from harm. All child facing roles will require the successful completion of a Working with Children Check. Applicants for all roles require a mandatory Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
We value Integrity, Compassion, Respect, Diversity, and Collaboration
