Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Working on local, national and international projects to identify, assess and monitor ecological values, particularly within the markets of Energy, Resources, Transport, Water and Future Communities.
- Conducting field surveys for baseline ecological assessments, targeted threatened species surveys, long-term monitoring, and assessment of biocondition.
- Identifying ecological impacts, developing avoidance and mitigation plans, assessing significant residual impacts in accordance with guidelines, and developing biodiversity offset solutions.
- Applying the principals of threatened species legislation; policy; management, conservation and recovery plans.
- Supporting key clients to drive sustainable environmental outcomes on major projects.
- Developing relationships with industry networks, government and university leaders and clients.
- Working within multidisciplinary teams, to drive best outcomes for clients, community and the environment.
- Tertiary qualifications in Zoology/Ecology/Natural Resource Management/Conservation Biology coupled with professional experience in ecological impact assessment, management and monitoring and biodiversity offsets.
- Previous experience in a similar role with a minimum of 5 years’ experience either in consulting or Local / State government.
- Demonstrated field survey capabilities in fauna habitat mapping, fauna species identification, threatened species surveys and biocondition assessments.
- Knowledge of QLD and Commonwealth regulatory frameworks and policy with respect to listed matters, management and offsetting.
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
- Demonstrated track record in the planning, coordination and management of environmental projects.
- Strong networking and client relationship management skills.
