Payroll Officer - Dandenong South

As we continue our transformation and growth journey across the region, we are now looking to appoint a Payroll Officer to join our team in Dandenong South.

In this pivotal role, you’ll ensure the accurate and timely processing of wages and salaries across our diverse APAC workforce. You’ll collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver a seamless payroll experience, while upholding compliance with employment legislation and company policies.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Accurately process weekly wages and monthly salaries for employees across multiple sites
  • Interpret and apply awards, EBAs, and contracts to ensure correct pay outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws, superannuation requirements, and state revenue office obligations
  • Maintain payroll records, process leave applications, and calculate termination payments
  • Reconcile payroll-related ledger accounts and support month-end reporting
  • Assist with internal/external audits, payroll queries, and process improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to superannuation administration and payroll-related financial analysis
  • Collaborate with team members to support broader APAC payroll operations and projects

What You’ll Bring To The Role

Essential:

  • Experience in a similar payroll role within a complex, fast-paced environment
  • Qualifications in Finance, Business, or related field
  • Strong working knowledge of awards and industrial agreements
  • Proficiency in processing both waged and salaried payrolls
  • Experience with payroll systems and electronic time & attendance solutions
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (particularly Excel)
  • Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail, integrity, and time management

Preferred:

  • Experience using Chris21 or similar payroll software
  • Familiarity with New Zealand payroll legislation and processes
  • Previous exposure to continuous improvement and innovation in payroll systems
