Security Compliance & Governance Specialist


Introduction

We are seeking a Security Compliance & Governance Specialist to join our GRC team. In this pivotal role, you’ll ensure that nbn’s security obligations compliance program aligns with regulatory requirements and business needs, while helping us stay ahead of ever-evolving legislation


A bit about your role

As the Security Compliance & Governance Specialist, you will be responsible for implementing, maintaining and continuously improving nbn’s security compliance program, specifically focused on our security legislative and regulatory obligations related to Security of Critical Infrastructure Act, Telecommunications Act and other relevant legislation. You will ensure our compliance efforts meet government and industry expectations, particularly in critical infrastructure. Collaborating with key stakeholders, you’ll provide professional guidance, design compliance frameworks, and ensure that the entire organisation is prepared and compliant with relevant legislation.

You will also be tasked with overseeing performance metrics to monitor and measure the effectiveness of nbn’s security compliance program. Your role is critical to ensuring that nbn operates within the regulatory landscape while contributing to our broader security strategy.


A bit about you

We’re looking for someone who has a strong background in security compliance and governance, preferably within a regulated sector. An understanding of controls assurance processes, experience engaging with government departments and agencies and broad stakeholder management skills will see you succeed in this role. Deep knowledge of regulatory requirements, particularly related to critical infrastructure, telecommunications legislation and the SOCI Act would be highly desirable. You should be skilled at working across multiple teams and with stakeholders at various levels, providing expert advice, and driving the development of robust legislative compliance programs. You must be able to communicate complex compliance issues in clear, actionable terms and be comfortable managing cross-functional issues. Your leadership and organisational skills will be key in ensuring consistent, high-calibre results.


You do not need technical security knowledge or skills to be successful in this role.
