Job Title: Project Manager - Energy Storage

Location: Brisbane, Queensland

Contract: Permanent

Remuneration: Competitive base salary commensurate with experience. Discretionary performance bonuses.


About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Project Manager to oversee the delivery of energy storage projects from execution to completion. You will manage all aspects of project delivery including schedule, budget, safety, quality, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.


Key Responsibilities:

Project Management

  • Represent the organisation to external stakeholders and customers, protecting brand integrity
  • Lead project delivery from development handover through construction to commercial operations
  • Manage tender processes, contractor selection, contract negotiation and execution
  • Maintain and manage project schedules, risk registers, and cash flow forecasts
  • Collaborate with finance and commercial teams to optimise commercial outcomes

Pre-Contracts Management

  • Oversee tendering, evaluation, and contract negotiation for EPC and O&M contracts
  • Drive project milestones and maintain timely status reporting
  • Coordinate due diligence, project analysis, financing, and internal approvals

Budget Management

  • Manage development budget pre-Notice to Proceed (NTP) and project budget post-NTP
  • Work with stakeholders to maintain positive cash flow and adhere to budget constraints

Schedule Management

  • Maintain clear understanding of project delivery schedules and required subtasks
  • Lead execution planning, risk mitigation, and resource coordination

Compliance and Construction Management

  • Coordinate permit acquisition, land access, and regulatory compliance
  • Support Construction Manager to ensure contractor and supplier adherence to specifications
  • Manage construction progress, resolve issues, and liaise with external stakeholders
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and compliance reporting

Health, Safety, Environment and Quality

  • Establish and monitor HSE Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Enforce quality control, minimise risks, and ensure corrective actions are implemented

Reporting and Team Leadership

  • Provide regular progress updates and hold team meetings
  • Report project status to senior management and project lenders
  • Lead and motivate project team members, fostering communication and accountability


Qualifications and Experience:

Essential

  • Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 years' experience managing construction projects, preferably energy storage or renewable projects
  • Strong understanding of energy storage technology and related regulations
  • Proficiency with project scheduling tools such as MS Project or Primavera P6

Desirable

  • Experience managing full EPC project lifecycle
  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, industrial, or civil engineering works
  • Familiarity with electronics and monitoring systems
