Brenntag TA Team
- Oversee the day-to-day management of HSES activities for all office locations as well as manufacturing sites including developing and implementing safety initiatives and ensuring the highest safety standards are met and are aligned to the Company’s strategic goals. Supporting and leading proactive safety culture within the business. Develop Safety, Health and Environment platforms and manage to best practice standards.
- Working with regional HSES team to ensure regional initiatives are integrated locally.
- Deliver process improvement initiatives which support and drive cultural change.
- Carry out data collection and analysis for process mapping and workflow.
- Lead, develop and improve process documentation to ensure all required. documentation is developed, published, and communicated.
- Be the active driver in providing process improvements which encourage cross functional engagement and drives customer satisfaction.
- Conduct minimum monthly HSES Committee meetings and minutes proactively
encouraging and maintaining employee participation. - Manage, evaluate, design, execute, measure, monitor and control business processes.
- Introduce innovation into processes that can impact results, enhance profitability, and assist in meeting our strategic business objectives.
- Facilitate any process improvement workshops upskilling and educating end users.
- Manage and maintain Company’s HSES Management Systems and comply with all procedures of the systems.
- Carry out professional measuring and monitoring, as well as providing feedback on performance of business processes.
- Prepare monthly HSES ANZ and Regional reporting including Lost Time Injury Reporting (LTIR)
- Maintain up to date knowledge of all relevant legal, regulatory and company HSES requirements.
- Oversee the HSES functions ensuring all business activities are conducted according to work instructions specified in the Integrated Management Systems and all relevant legal, regulatory and Company HSES requirements are met.
- Oversee the HSES strategic site framework in conjunction with local and regional requirements with a core focus on risk, compliance, and corporate best practise.
- Consult and collaborate with regional HSES to achieve Brenntag Global HSES standards and objectives, integrating global requirements into local HSES systems.
- Oversee the implementation of the HSES Management Systems which include training plans to coach and mentor Managers and support compliance requirements, creating a safe workplace and safety culture.
- Oversee the implementation of site-specific safety plans ensuring all managers and supervisors are aware of site plan requirements impacting their positions and direct reports and all visitors and contractors are aware of site-specific plans
- Oversee the return to work program, as the return to work coordinator.
- Manage the HSES communication strategy.
- Ensure appropriate training is available to employees as required.
- Manage the near miss and other safety processes ensuring corrective actions are undertaken and reported.
- Work cohesively with internal/external stakeholders ensuring a safety centric culture is achieved and maintained.
- Review safety related Job7’s and follow through to action improvements, addressing areas of sub-optimal performance.
- Lead the incident investigation process with the relevant stake holders and report findings to regional HSES.
- Manage and report all non-conformances, acting on repetitious non-conformances.
- Identify and implement changes to ensure a measured reduction in non-conformances and overall operation efficiency gains and continuous improvement initiatives are achieved
- Lead and manage the HSES Team ensuring regional/ANZ expectations are met.
- Lead the recruitment, retention, and development of the team ensuring personal and professional development is undertaken.
- Consistently demonstrate and reinforce the values of Brenntag through exemplary standard setting and observed behaviors in the areas of performance, leadership, teamwork and accountability,
- Build an exceptional safety and customer centric culture.
- Actively participate in the annual Performance, Planning & Review Process (PPM), establishing individual KPIs and monitoring performance to ensure targets and effective work outcomes are achieved.
- Take ownership of learning and development opportunities by creating an Individual Development Plan (IDP), strengthening your personal and professional development
- Perform such other duties and activities which may be assigned to you from time to time.
- Tertiary qualifications - postgraduate or masters degree in SHE, manufacturing, engineering or technical discipline preferred
- Minimum 5+ years’ relevant experience in a safety leadership role with a demonstrated understanding of legislative and compliance requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge of SHE practices including statutory compliance requirements
- Working knowledge/experience in chemical manufacturing / distribution / manufacturing industry or similar fields advantageous
- Knowledge of ERP systems including in-depth understanding of data structure
