With approximately 400 employees across its businesses, the QANTM group of businesses have a strong track record in providing IP services to a broad range of Australian and international clients, ranging from start-up technology businesses to Fortune 500 multinationals, public research institutions and universities.
To spearhead this growth, QANTM has created a new 12 month fixed term contract role as Business Analyst based in Melbourne, reporting to the Project Manager.
About the role
The Business Analyst (BA) in our Change team will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence by working across a broad range of projects, with a focus on process improvement across Intellectual Property services. The business analysis work will vary based on the demands of different projects. However, a focus will be identifying, analysing, and redesigning business processes using Lean Six Sigma methods, and working across the software development lifecycle to bring new processes to life via automation platforms. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to uncover inefficiencies, define future-state processes, and support the implementation, training and adoption of new solutions. You will work closely with stakeholders across all levels to understand their needs, facilitate workshops and create high-quality requirements that drive our development process.
You thrive in both Agile and Waterfall environments, with demonstrated experience across the entire software development lifecycle. Your analytical mindset and process mapping expertise are complemented by strong stakeholder management abilities and a genuine passion for creating solutions that address real business challenges. Our project portfolio includes large, complex technical projects, through to small proof-of-concept projects.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Process Design
- Lead the analysis and design of business processes using Lean Six Sigma and other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Facilitate workshops to map current-state processes, identify pain points, and co-design future-state solutions.
- Develop high quality process documentation, including value stream maps
- Ensure business and technical requirements are clearly defined, validated, and maintained through the program lifecycle.
- Provide oversight of integration analysis across platforms, ensuring consistency in data models and business logic.
- Present key analysis insights, risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies at cross-program governance forums.
Other key responsibilities include stakeholder engagement, lean and agile capability building and data insights.
About you
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Process Analyst, with a focus on process improvement and process automation. Experience in high-volume case management, CRM, and/or financial processes would be beneficial.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles (certification preferred).
- Proficiency in process mapping tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart), data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI), and automation tools such as PowerApps/PowerAutomate, Asana, Blue Prism, Monday.com, Notion
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working in Agile and hybrid project environments.
- Tertiary qualification in Business, IT, or a related discipline.
- Deep understanding of cross-system integration impacts and data flows.
- Skilled in Agile and hybrid delivery methodologies; hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence, and in project disciplines such as reporting, risk, issue and dependency management.
