Our Technical, Advisory, and Capability practice and Team Downer serves as one of the Major Service Providers delivering consulting services and Integrated Work Packages across the Department of Defence, leveraging innovative approaches such as mission and digital engineering to enable the successful delivery of critical Defence programs.

This includes collaboration with key Defence entities, including Defence Digital Group (DDG), National Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group (NSSG), Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG), and branches across the Navy, Army, and Air Force.

We are currently seeking an experienced Logistics Technician responsible for ensuring the integrity and compliance of naval equipment supporting audit, assessment, and sustainment activities to maintain equipment reliability and regulatory compliance.

If successful in securing a role, your work may involve:

  • Equipment Compliance & Audits: Conduct onboard audits of certified items, engineering registers, and combat system data.
  • Technical Assessments: Assist in identifying alternate parts and evaluating their form-fit-function equivalence.
  • ILS & Sustainment Support: Audit Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) data, assess removed equipment for refurbishment, and track maintenance triggers.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Safety & Continuous Improvement: Maintain hazard reporting, uphold safety standards, and contribute to professional development.

We are seeking candidates with defence industry experience in the following:

  • Ability to engage stakeholders to understand expectations, concerns, and develop solutions
  • Expertise to ensure responsible recordkeeping, classified Document Handling, and Export Control Navigation.
  • Proficiency in ERP SAPNAV SAP S/4HANA, Sentinel Fundamentals, and Performance & Goals (P&G).
  • Whole Life Warship Capability (BMT), ISO 9001:2015 Auditor Accreditation, and JIRA experience is preferred.

Our work is highly complex and confidential; applicants must be Australian citizens with a minimum NV1 security clearance. Additionally, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may be necessary. In some cases, this may impose restrictions individuals who are dual citizens, permanent residency, or former nationality of specific countries as outlined in ITAR 126.1.
