- Opportunity to learn a new commodity (open cut coal)
- Two roles with DIDO from Mackay or Collinsville on a 5/2 roster
- Conducting detailed geological logging, grade control input, soil and rock sampling and geological mapping to assess coal seams in line with the mine plan.
- Coordinate EOM reconciliation, validate dig block designs and post-blast ore movements.
- Working closely with site management and mine geologists to optimise coal extraction operations, minimise geological risks, and ensure accurate integration of geological data into mine planning and production scheduling.
- Utilising geological databases and software to create 3D coal resource models, conduct resource estimation, and ensure compliance with industry standards to support mine planning and reserve estimation.
- Promoting a safety-first mindset throughout coal mining operations, ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards in geological processes and site activities.
- Compile accurate weekly and monthly geological reports.
- A Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Geology or other relevant qualifications.
- Australian geology experience is essential.
- Minimum 3 years experience in open cut mine geology with coal experience preferable but not required.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Australian driver's license.
- Mackay/Collinsville/Bowen based or willing to relocate.
