We are looking for a Contractor Management Senior Advisor to be part of a high performing site-based finance team which is committed to adding value to RTA Pacific Operations business by leading a team to implement contractor management best practices across the disciplines of Procurement, Operations and Finance to ensure full compliance with contracts and eliminating any cost leakage.

Reporting to the Contractor Management Business Partner and working in an exciting environment within the Finance function, you will be

  • Be a part of a high performing finance team, whilst working closely with our assets and fellow business partners to ensure contract compliance and financial outcomes align with the contract
  • Responsible for delivering the remaining suite of contractor management solutions to the Gladstone regional sites, whilst integrating and using data and technology to identify future contracting opportunities.
  • Working as a trusted advisor to influence and coach site operational teams to deliver sustainable results quickly and maximise contract value
  • Develop and train site contract owners, procurement and finance business partners to understand and drive contractor management best practice.
  • Support KPIs and metric development and tracking to enable effective measurement of contractor management performance.
  • Managing the framework for our Management of Change and Productivity systems

What You Will Bring

  • Strong commercial acumen with proven experience in identifying financial opportunities
  • Contractor Management experience
  • Advaned analytical skillset – Excel, Power BI, MiniTab etc.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills
  • Team orientated approach to delivery of strategic priorities
  • Strong SAP and (P2P) Purchase to Pay knowledge
  • Effective presentation skills and ability to present strategic information

It will also be beneficial if you have

  • University degree in either Business, Engineering, Logistics, Marketing, or other related fields
  • Experience in use Rio Tinto Business Solution (specifically PAM and MMP)
  • Experience with the following contractor management systems MCI Track and Avetta and their interconnectivity to ensure contractor data can be validated and shared across Rio systems
  • Proficiency with business intelligence programs/techniques (Power BI and SQL)
  • Knowledge and experience in the metals and mining industry or commodities trading.

Where you’ll be working

Located in Central Queensland, approximately 10km north-west of Gladstone, Yarwun alumina refinery commenced operations in 2004. Processing bauxite from our mines in Weipa and Gove, Yarwun produces more than three million tonnes of smelter grade alumina annually.

As one of the largest industries in the Gladstone region, Yarwun employs over 700 people and has a large contractor workforce.

With a focus on safely improving our process every day, the team at Yarwun challenge themselves to use existing and emerging technology to support the 24-hour operation.
