About role

We are seeking a Peer Work Trainer to support and mentor students completing their Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work. Drawing on lived or living experience of mental health and/or AOD recovery, the role involves co-facilitating reflective practice, providing one-on-one mentoring, and supporting peer-led programs within services like the Op Shop, Emergency Relief, and Hartley’s Café. The Peer Work Trainer will work closely with the Senior Peer Mentor and Peer Cadet Lead to ensure a safe, structured, and empowering learning environment.

Your skills and experience

We are looking for a Trainer who is willing to work with people from all walks of life.

  • Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work (or equivalent)
  • Lived and/or living experience of mental health and/or AOD recovery (as a consumer, family member, or carer)
  • Experience working as a peer worker in a professional setting
  • Strong understanding of challenges faced by people experiencing mental health and/or AOD issues
  • Ability to appropriately share lived experience to inspire hope and support recovery
  • IPS (Individual Placement and Support) training
