Permanent part time position
An exciting opportunity exists within our Community and Programs Team for a Home Library Assistant.
We are seeking to engage an enthusiastic customer-oriented person to assist with the selection and delivery of materials for home library service customers.
Salary
$37,763 to $42,097 per annum (based on 46 hours per fortnight), plus superannuation. Appointed salary in this range will be based on skills, qualifications and experience

About The Role
Your new role is an operational position that relies heavily on teamwork and requires that work be prioritised according to customer need. Agreed deadlines must be met on a daily basis. The Home Library is a specialist outreach service for customers who are unable to visit the library because of incapacity or ill health.
Some duties of the position include;
Current enrolment in the Diploma of Library and Information Studies or its equivalent, or a degree course in Library and Information Science, approved by ALIA.
About You
Your new role requires an enthusiastic, customer-oriented person who has good communication skills. The ability to be an effective member of a team is critical to the success of this role as is accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines. The Home Library Assistant is based at Hornsby Library and will be required to deliver resources to customers in their home across the Shire using Council’s Home Library Van.
A Class C Drivers licence and Working with Children Check is essential to the position.
The position also works regularly in the Customer Services Team and may be required to work at other Branch libraries.

- Ensure the provision of quality customer services
- Assist in delivering a positive customer experience
- Assist in the maintenance of the collection to ensure it meets community needs
- Provide assistance with the use and troubleshooting and maintenance of library software and equipment
- Promote library services and programs
- Assist in the review of Home Library Service delivery routes
- Perform preliminary assessment of possible clients for Home Library Service
- Advise Home Library Service clients of other community services available
